Samsung Beats Apple World Number One Smartphone Maker Company iPhone Shipments Drop

Top Smartphone Maker Companies: The world’s top smartphone maker has now become not Apple but South Korean company Samsung. In fact, while sharing the data, research firm IDC said that a 10 percent decline has been seen in Apple’s shipments in the first quarter of 2024 i.e. January-March. During this period, Samsung has come in first place with 20.8 percent market share and Apple is in second place with 17.3 percent share.

California company Apple had performed well in December last year and was at the first position. In the same time period, Samsung company was at number two, but now it has come to number one in the first quarter of 2024. Talking about the third position, it is China’s top smartphone company Xiaomi, whose share is 14.1 percent.

What is the reason behind Samsung’s growth?

According to IDC, the company’s market share has increased after the launch of Samsung Galaxy S24. There has been an increase of 8 percent in the global sales of this smartphone in the first three weeks, which is compared to the Galaxy S23 series launched last year. During the first quarter of the year, the company has shipped more than 60 million phones. Talking about Apple, its shipment in the first quarter was 50.1 million iPhones. Whereas in this time period last year, the company had shipped 55.4 million units.

iPhone sales decline in China

China is being said to be the main reason behind the decline in Apple’s market. There has been a significant decline in iPhone sales in China in the last one year. The reason behind this is that China is promoting its smartphones. Not only this, it has also banned the use of iPhone by government officials. While registering growth in smartphone sales, Xiaomi is at third position with 14.1 percent.
